Like so many others before me that started on this journey of enlightenment and search for true knowledge, I became stressed or saddened after I first realized everything we are taught in school is virtually wrong. Our health system actually causes people to be in far worse health– while suppressing cures to most diseases. We have had the technology to make free energy devices and cars that run off water for a very long time. Meaning, we have the power to bring electricity and even nutritious food to everyone on the planet. But greed and the thirst for power stop these things from happening.

I think this is enough to upset anyone when they first realize it. Luckily, I realized that I needed to get rid of the stress and negative thoughts or it would consume me.

At a certain point, I started to totally give into my intuition and listen to what my inner self was telling me to do. I felt like I needed to reconnect with the earth so I started to walk everywhere bare foot. It proved to be something that is extremely liberating. Around this time, I keep getting signs to look into meditation, which was something that had never crossed my mind to try before.

I believe meditation, like so many other things, is not a “one size fits all” kind of thing. Not all techniques work for everyone, so you have to find the best fit for you. I started doing traditional meditation- sitting on the floor with my legs crossed and my arms resting on them. I listened to different frequency music that encourages your body and mind to relax. I would take deep breaths, silently saying the word ‘love’ every time I breathed in. After I became relaxed, both in mind and body, I found myself starting to focus on the negative thoughts or emotions I may have had that day. I would tell myself to release them and started repeating affirmations I felt needed to be reinforced, followed by doing an exercise in the law of attraction.

It was pretty good, but I never experienced feelings of bliss, love or extremely powerful energies rushing through my body. I was never able to turn all my thoughts completely off until I tried a meditation technique that caused many to call me stupid or crazy for trying.

The technique is called sungazing… And yes, it is exactly what it sounds like.

Sungazing has very ancient roots and some people claim it allows them to do some really amazing things. I can not attest to any of that. All I know is what it did for me.

The first thing you need to know is you should only do this the hour before sunset and the hour after the sunrise because the UVA radiation is at its weakest. You want to take off your shoes and stand on some grass or dirt– really any thing that is not artificial. This will give you the added benefit of being grounded to the earth. I like to take off my shirt and soak in some of the rays while doing it. You should start by only looking for fifteen seconds and add ten to fifteen second per day. Most people never go over 45 min a day.

Like I said before, I have never felt the intense sense of bliss or had stress melt away until I sungazed. I also was never able to quiet my mind as fast as I could with sungazing. It made me feel more connected to everything in this physical existence and I could feel an amazing connection with the creator from inside my heart.

I must admit that I have never made it past 15 min because something always seems to come up in my life to cause me to put it by the wayside for a while. I have to keep starting from square one to work back up to it. Unfortunately, this “break” from sungazing has been almost a year. To be honest, its been a while since I’ve done any form of meditation, which is probably why I felt inspired to write a quick article about my experience. Therefore, this is not only an encouragement to you readers, but a reminder for me also, to take a few minutes out of our busy days to meditate and receive all the benefits it provides.

*Remember: not every form of meditation is for everyone and if sungazing is done incorrectly, it can hurt your eyes. Please research before attempting and if it causes any discomfort, stop immediately.

Happy Sungazing!

*Disclaimer: looking directly into the sun can cause damage to our eyes. So if you do try it I suggest you take it very serious and do plenty of research. If the sun is to bright  and you are feeling discomfort then stop right away.
