From my experience with the VA, it is very hard to get service-related disabilities for many conditions. However, they seem to give out a lot for PTSD. When I realized this, one thought popped in my mind, “they were doing this so that at a later time they could say all veterans diagnosed with PTSD are not eligible to receive gun permits.” After all, the Department of Homeland Security did put veterans on their possible domestic terrorist list.

The unclassified document had this to say about veterans:

“the return of military veterans facing significant challenges reintegrating into their communities could lead to the potential emergence of terrorist groups or lone wolf extremists capable of carrying out violent attacks.”

It goes on to state:

“Returning veterans possess combat skills and experience that are attractive to right-wing extremists,” it says. “DHS/I&A is concerned that right-wing extremists will attempt to recruit and radicalize veterans in order to boost their violent capacities.”

So, to anyone that has read this document, it logically makes sense to assume that the government would want to disarm anyone they feel this way about.

According to the constitutionalist group called the 3% of Idaho, the VA was going to attempt to search the house of a Vietnam vet, who recently had a stroke leaving him with partial limitations. The group’s Facebook page had a message stating the VA was looking for weapons and are planning on confiscating any they find!

Here is the message in its entirety:

URGENT ACTION ALERT
11:00am TODAY
Priest River Community Church
49 Washington St., Priest River, ID

The federal government is going to attempt the gun confiscation of a Vietnam War Veteran. The VA is going to conduct a check for and confiscate his guns based on nothing more than a stroke which has left him with some mild physical impairment. After evaluating the VA claims and letters and getting information from the head of the American Legion Auxiliary in Bonner County, it is clear this is not warranted. WE CANNOT LET THIS STAND. THE SEIZURE OF THE GUNS OF ONE OF US…IS THE SEIZURE OF THE GUNS OF ALL OF US. PLEASE ATTEND IF AT ALL POSSIBLE. RIGHT NOW WE HAVE LEGISLATORS AND CITIZENS FROM WASHINGTON AND IDAHO HEADED TO THE LOCATION. REP. Heather Scott HAS ASKED US ALL FOR HELP SINCE THIS IS HER DISTRICT.

Updates on situation, posted in the comment section, said that members of this group and others were heading down to support this veteran. They said the VA was supposed to start the raid at 1 pm. The current time, as I write this article, is 4pm. The last update was from an hour ago stating that the VA had not shown up yet.

It looks like the publicity from REP Heather Scott and this organization may have stopped the unlawful theft of this veterans property. However, we must stay vigilant, history has shown us what happens after a government starts confiscating the people’s weapons and with it, their means to defend themselves.

I will keep you posted on any future details.
